Rewiring a 3-Bed House: What to Expect
What a rewire typically involves in a three-bedroom house — scope, disruption and the decisions you'll need to make.
The three-bed semi is one of the most common houses we rewire. The scope is usually similar: socket circuits, lighting circuits, cooker and shower supplies, a new consumer unit and bonding.
Decisions to make
Think about where you want extra sockets (kitchen worktops, bedside, desk), outdoor sockets, lighting layouts, and whether you're planning a loft conversion or extension later.
Disruption
Upstairs floors are usually suspended timber and quick to work under. Ground floors vary — solid floors mean more cables dropped from above in wall chases.
