Complete rewires

Complete house rewiring, done properly

A full rewire is disruptive, so it's worth doing once and doing well. We plan cable routes to keep chasing to a minimum, lift and refix floorboards carefully, and agree every socket and switch position with you before first fix.

The result is an installation designed for how you live now — enough sockets, sensible lighting, a modern consumer unit and clear labelling.

About complete house rewiring
Rewiring surveys

Not sure what the house needs?

Buying an older house, or about to renovate? A rewiring survey looks at the board, cabling, earthing and how the installation has been altered — then tells you plainly whether a full rewire, partial rewire or neither is the right answer.

  • Clear recommendation in plain English
  • Scope agreed before any quote
  • Written quotation if work is needed

Warning signs

Signs a house may need rewiring

  • Old fuse box with rewireable fuses, or a board with no RCD protection
  • Rubber, lead-sheathed or fabric-covered cables
  • Lighting circuits with no earth conductor
  • Scorch marks, warm sockets or a burning smell
  • Circuits that trip regularly or lights that flicker
  • Too few sockets, with extension leads everywhere
  • Round-pin sockets or switches on skirting boards
  • A history of DIY alterations nobody can explain
How it works

Our rewiring process

  1. 01

    Survey & quotation

We look at the installation, talk through how you use the house and send a written quotation.

  2. 02

    Walk-round & planning

Socket, switch and lighting positions are agreed room by room, along with the order of work.

  3. 03

    First fix

Floorboards are lifted, walls chased, back boxes fitted and new cables run. The old circuits are made dead.

  4. 04

    Making good

Chases are filled and floors refixed. Plastering follows where the quotation includes it.

  5. 05

    Second fix

Sockets, switches, light fittings and the consumer unit are connected.

  6. 06

    Testing & handover

The installation is tested, labelled and explained to you, with documentation on completion.

House rewiring FAQs

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Warning signs include an old fuse box, rubber or fabric-covered cables, unearthed lighting, scorched sockets and frequent tripping. A rewiring survey confirms whether a full or partial rewire is needed.

Can I stay in the house during a rewire?

Usually, yes. We work room by room and agree the order with you. An empty house is quicker, so if you have a gap before moving in, that's ideal.

Do you do partial rewires?

Yes — kitchens, extensions, single floors and individual circuits, where the rest of the installation is suitable to keep.

Will I get a written quotation?

Yes. After the survey you'll receive a written quotation showing exactly what's included.

Which areas do you cover?

Surrey and surrounding areas, including Guildford, Farnham, Esher, Farnborough, Ascot and Reading.
