Full Rewire vs Partial Rewire
How to decide between a full rewire and a partial rewire, and when a partial job is the false economy.
When partial makes sense
If most of the installation is sound and only part of the house is affected — an older kitchen circuit, an extension, a single floor — a partial rewire can be good value.
When it doesn't
If the cabling is old throughout, patching one area just defers the inevitable and you end up disturbing new decoration later. In that case a full rewire is usually the better long-term choice.
